Honeybush and Rooibos Teas
Use one teaspoon of tea per cup. Place tea in teapot, brew basket or tea filter. Add freshly drawn and boiled water, pour over tea and leave to infuse for 3-5 minutes or longer according to taste.
Herbal Teas
Use one teaspoon of tea per cup. Place tea in teapot, brew basket or tea filter. Add freshly drawn and boiled water, pour over tea and leave to infuse for 5 minutes or longer according to taste.
Indian Teas
Use one teaspoon of tea per cup. Place tea in teapot, brew basket or tea filter. Add freshly drawn and boiled water, pour over tea and leave to infuse for 3-5 minutes or longer according to taste.
Oriental Teas
Use one heaped teaspoon of tea per cup. Place tea in teapot, brew basket or tea filter. Boil freshly drawn water and leave to cool for a few minutes before infusion. Infuse for exactly 1 minute or less, you can gradually increase this in 10-30 second increments to suit your taste.
Chinese green teas are very delicate and become bitter if steeped too long.
Large leaf tea needs a longer brewing time. The hot water takes longer to extract the contents from the bigger surface area.
